Day 30 - Saturday, September 18th 2010

Busy, busy Saturday! Went with dad to Hillside Farms and the Tubs. Then, I went our for dinner for Michael's birthday (one of my mom's friends). And finally, Kati, Danielle, and I went to a late night showing of “Easy A” at the movies, where Trisha got us in for free. Love that girl!

Day 29 - Friday, September 17th 2010

So gladly, I'm feeling really good about my Calculus test. I may have even gotten an A (I would be sooo happy). I'm feeling a little less confident about my English test. I know for a fact I got 2 questions wrong and I'm afraid my essays weren't very good and so on and so forth. I know B's are perfectly fine in college, but if English Literature is really going to be the class that brings down my GPA, I'm going to be a wee bit confused (i.e. angry). Been working on Chem sheets in preparation for the big test on Wednesday.

Went home for the weekend (again). My mom had a “Halfway to St. Patrick's Day” party for her dance friends, which I helped with of course. It was fun, and I was really glad to get to see them.

Day 28 - Thursday, September 16th 2010

Boring FYE. Chorus class was nice though and I really like the songs the “supersmallgroup” are singing. Sooo pretty. We finished our Utopia discussion today in History. Since discussion is a huge part of our grade, I attempt to raise my hand at least once every class. I think it's a good system. Then, I had Dr. Jimenez once more before the first exam. It was kind of a review which was nice, but I'm still insanely nervous. Went back to the dorm where Krystin said she was good to drive to her class. Oh, by the way, I have yet another example of how the Honors Program is trying to screw me over.

So here goes: basically, you have to attend 3 lecture-things throughout the semester and get these yellow slips signed and hand them in. This lecture-thing was pretty much mandatory. So even though I wanted nothing else than to study for Calc, I had to go. And it was awful. Hated it, and didn't retain a thing. However, this may have been because I was reciting derivative and antiderivatives in my head. After that (which had me really pissed/frustrated/upset/worried), I went to the library to wait for Krystin to get out of class. I talked to one of my co-workers, Ron, about my issues and continued working on Calc. Once Krystin and I went back to our dorms, I studied until I couldn't anymore. Here's to hoping!

Day 27 - Wednesday, September 15th 2010

We started the Jitterbug today – really super easy so far. Ah, if only there were boys who thought so... Calc was a review of stuff I know and so was Chem. I was really tired today for some reason. Not having it. Highlight of my day: I FINALLY MET THE THEATRE DIRECTOR!!! He seems like a really awesome guy. I'm pretty sure he's crazy excited that I'm so interested. Also, I think I had a position of power offered to me (if I am willing to accept it...) as a driving force in SOTA (Society of the Arts – connected to the theatre, but not the theatre). Sweet! He said to stop by again and that he'd keep me updated. I had to power-walk to English so I wouldn't be late though.

I worked for about 2 hours and ate in my dorm and half-napped. Did my Calc test review (the Jimenez Death Packet), read my Special Love/Special Sex papers, and worked on the PowerPoint. Ew. Interesting thing though. During softball practice today, Krystin managed to twist her ankle and it really started hurting a few hours after she did it. It is now my job to look out for her. Because of this, I was the one who walked over to the police station and ask if they had an Ace Bandage for her. They didn't, so he called the gym/training center and someone came down to get her. She is now on crutches and going to Wilkes-Barre tomorrow to get it looked at. It isn't her day.

Day 26 - Tuesday, September 14th 2010

I bet you can guess how much I LOVE lab day. I worked with a partner today – his name is Donald, but prefers Donny. We discussed the inaccuracy and difficulty involving in reading a measurement from a graduated cylinder that only measured to the tenth decimal place. We have so much in common. Got out early and spent an hour in the library. Then I bought lunch and met Krystin to attend a meditation/stress relief session. Good news: it was pretty helpful. Bad news: we were the only people there! If she and I didn't make the conscious decision to go, no one would have been there – how sad! I had chorus after that, in which I continued sucking up to the director (and asked about solos). Then – HISTORY. Mainly discussion again, but I'm getting nervous about our presentation which need to be done for next week already. Can't wait. I took on the responsibility of starting the PowerPoint for the project. Go me. Like I don't have enough to do. I figured out that between this Friday and next Wednesday, I have 3 major tests in my important classes and one project that counts for a quarter of my grade. I love college...

Day 25 - Monday, September 13th 2010

Back to the disco. We reviewed everything today, so on wednesday we'll be moving on to the Jitterbug/Swing. Rock on. I did miss a move on Friday, so I made my partner do a quick-tutorial for me. I think he thinks I'm crazy. Is it bad that I really don't care? I didn't think so. Calc quiz today, which I don't think I'm feeling. Probably not my best one so far. Ah well, I'll do what I need to do. Not like I ever expect a perfect score in that class anyway. It is Calc after all. More Chem insanity. We talked about Herman Melville's “Bartleby the Scrivener.” Very different. I missed the “Young Goodman Brown” discussion on Friday, but one of the girls was kind enough to let me borrow her notes. I asked Professor Smith if I missed any important information while I was gone. She explained the basics, and seems to have a lot of faith in my understanding it (I think she likes me too).

Somehow, I ended up working 5 hours in the library today (2-7!) I don't know either... I did get a lot of work finished. That's one good thing about my job – I have to force myself to the front desk to even field anything! This, of course, is what I did. I still managed to get lots of homework done. There was also a meeting for THON tonight (a Penn State dance marathon benefiting kids and families dealing with pediatric cancer). As you can imagine, I almost cried when they showed a little explanatory video. Way to be, self.

Day 24 - Sunday, September 12th 2010

Went back to school a bit earlier than usual. You see, I only worked about 4 hours in the library last week, so I decided to work on Sunday. There was only one woman on duty (Lisa – super nice and we tend to talk a lot), so it was sort of helpful for me to be there. I got a lot of work done, since it wasn't very busy. Went to my dorm after, had dinner and hung out with Krystin once she got back.
